Ed (Eddie) Thirlby of the Thirlby Automotive Racing Team raced under the boat number M4. He has won over 30 National Championships and over 19 USTS championships. He was inducted into the Hall of Champions in 1989, 1997 and 1999. Ed started racing when he was 11 years old. He also races stock cars on dirt with much success and many wins. His son, Brandon, is also a successful boat racer. (Please note: the picture states this is a hydro, it is actually a runabout boat.)

Brandon Thirlby is the son of Eddie Thirlby a USTS racer and grandson of Ed Thirlby the vice president of USTS. He has been racing since he was 11 years old. Brandon lives in Traverse City, MI, and drives boat number M14 for the Thirlby Automotive Racing Team. Brandon races 125cc Hydro and 250cc Runabout with great success.

Mike Thirlby of the Thirlby Automotive Racing Team has
has won 3 National Championships and 11 USTS Championships.
Mike lives in Fife Lake, MI, and races under boat number M47. Mike races 350cc Runabout, 500cc Runabout, and 1100cc Runabout. Mike has been racing since he was 11 years old. Mike is the chief mechanic and pit crew for his go cart team and is the head machinist for the family owned auto parts machine shop. Mike also builds many of the go cart and stock car motors for the racers in the Traverse City area.

M47 Mike Thirlby with his deck riding son, Preston, and R-18 Dwight Malhoit with Amy Eldredge in 1100 Runabout. Mike went on to win followed by Jim Kurts and Dwight.
